About Ceretone

Audicon Corporation of Ontario California a leading provider of over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids. They are ” dedicated to breaking down the barriers of availability and affordability” And they weren’t kidding around when they introduced the Ceretone hearing aids.

First Impressions

My first impression upon looking at them was WOW these things are SO SMALL. I thought back to my dad wearing those clunky things that wrapped around his ears and would start screeching during dinner. Man have times changed, what an improvement.

Key Features

  • Invisibility: Rolling in at a tiny 1 gram each they are the smallest OTC Hearing aids on the market.
  • Rechargeability: Fully recharged they last 13 hours.
  • Adjustability: Adjust noise reduction, equalize the sound quality, switch sound profiles, and monitor the battery percentage of your hearing aids with just a tap on your phone.
  • Comfort: You can purchase these in various sizes to fit you comfortably. You can even order just one if you hear fine from one ear.
  • Durability: I have not tested out swimming with these on but the IP66 waterproof rating means you can take a shower without removing them.

What Do You Get?

Hearing Aids

Inside you will find everything you need to get started. Find the right size eartips for your comfort. Place the Hearing Aids in the charging case and plug the case into a USB charging station to ensure a good initial charge.

Performance

  • I can hear footsteps, voices in the other room, and crickets chirping outside. I didn’t know what I was missing out on until I heard how clear these are.

Battery Life and Charging

The battery life is accurate. They are usually charged in less than 2 hours and to me last all day. I like to put them in a little later in the morning so I ensure they go until it’s time for bed.

Pros and Cons

  • Pros: All In all I would say they are pretty much invisible, they sound great and they are affordable.
  • Cons: I would say if there was any complaint I would still like to see them come down a bit in price but they truly are worth every penny.

Conclusion

OTC (Over-The-Counter) hearing aids have emerged as a viable solution for those with mild to moderate hearing loss, offering an accessible and affordable alternative to traditional prescription-based devices. While they may lack the customization and precision of their prescription counterparts, the effectiveness of OTC hearing aids largely hinges on the user’s unique hearing needs, the quality of the device, and correct usage. It’s crucial to recognize that these devices are not universally suited for all types of hearing loss, and their success varies from one individual to another. Nevertheless, for many, OTC hearing aids represent a significant step towards improved hearing, providing the benefits of enhanced sound amplification and the convenience of direct purchase without sacrificing overall performance.
